Technological differences among Small Pixel Pitch LED Screens, DLP Screens, and LCD screens

(1) About Splicing: There is visible seam existing in LCD screens and PDP screens, while none for small pixel pitch LED screens. Seams of joint area of Projection fusion system can be eliminated by proper measures.

(2) About visual effect: Due to the physical attributes of projection, both DLP backlight projection and projection fusion system perform poorly in aspects like grayscale, contrast, brightness and refresh ratio. High quality visual effect of LCD screen will appear dark trace or vegetating problems after consistent operation because of brightness attenuation. Brightness and color uniformity of it will get break down, which can be easily captured by human’s eyes. 

(3) About resolutions: 60-inch DLP and LCD single display unit can easily achieve 2K high definition effect, while small LED panel cannot reach high resolution like that because the pixels are made with LED lamps with limited costs. Take LED screen and signal source for example, basically, many customers pay much attention to visual effect and brightness of the screen but little attention to resolutions when it comes to outdoor LED applications Small pixel pitch LED screens enable a wider range of indoor LED display screen applications, like control center, monitoring center etc.. It is required for screens to match each signal output like 1920*1080 signal of HD camera. Furthermore, it is difficult to achieve standard resolutions with regular LED cabinets.

(4) About costs: Overall indoor large screen solutions, the most price-competitive ones should be an LCD splicing screen and projection fusion system. Then comes PDP splicing products. It is not an easy job to define which is the best solution between small pitch LED display and DLP backlight projection. Various costs of different pixel pitch LED products make people give up choosing LED screen. Take P1.9mm LED screen as an example, the unit price of it is not expensive than the price of DLP products, however, comes with higher production costs. Thus, for price-sensitive customers, they tend to pick options that can satisfy their needs instead of choosing small LED products, which is the hardest problem for the industry. With the market of LED screen developing, small LED pixel pitch screen technology has advanced and improved, which helps lower the overall costs. At present, the price of P1.2mm LED screen remains too high for most customers, which means there is small chance to promote and apply small pixel pitch LED products.

(5) About lifespan: According to the lifespan, LED screen owns longer lifespan than others, because it requires lower brightness standard and only 20% of power output for its applications indoor, so LED screens save a lot of energies.
